Far Home Hostels presents The Joy of Living with Nohora M. Parga. Summer is already over and we are ready to start our new series of events in Hostel ConScience.
This time we will have a special presentation that includes a lecture, introduction of the book “The Joy of Living” and an exhibition of drawings made by the author.
Nohora M. Parga, a Colombian-French writer and illustrator, will hold a workshop on gratitude in which we will discuss the following topics:
Do we need to be on the verge of death to value everything we have and what we are? What is the power of gratitude?
Is gratitude what makes us happy?
What can we do to encourage gratitude in our day to day life?
N.M. Parga has lived in Madrid since January 2000 and almost died of a cerebral hemorrhage in October 2012. Through her book, The Joy of Living, and her illustrations, she shares the power of gratitude, which she discovered when a stroke Changed her life.
Some of her pencil drawings illustrate passages from her book The Joy of Existence, they show us what a person with hemianopsia sees (loss of half the field of vision), a permanent sequel left by the bleeding.
The event is on Friday, September 8 at 8:00 PM on the first floor of Far Home Atocha Hostel.
